Choose the right exercise regime in the weeks after birth

Read Vicki Cumberworth’s latest article about exercising after giving birth. Sit-ups are not the answer if you want to avoid later problems with backache. The fitness industry is a mine field! One professional can give one piece of advice, another can give the opposite and then Google… well Google tells you just about ANYTHING!! One piece of very valuable advice that I give is listen to just one fitness professional. Use their knowledge and stick to their principles only. This will help you to achieve optimal results, especially after having a baby. Once women have a baby – as I have...

Are you thinking of starting a business to improve your work/life balance or your finances? If so, what business model will you choose? Halloween Crafts

Halloween is just around the corner and as well as the usual pumpkin carving, apple bobbing, and toffee apple demolishing that goes on in my house, we usually try and think up some new little craft ideas, which are also especially useful in the half term week leading up to ‘All Hallows Eve’. So here are two small activities for you to try. Frankenstein’s Tube You will need: Toilet roll/kitchen towel tube Scissors Pens, pencils, crayons or paint Googly eyes Glue (PVA or a glue stick) 1. Colour in or paint a black strip all the way around the top of your tube, about 2-3cm thick. This will be Frankenstein’s hair. 2. Colour the rest of the tube green. If you are using a kitchen roll tube you will need to cut it in half so it’s not too long. 3. Make little snips into the black strip for Frankenstein’s hair. You need to go about halfway into the black colour and leave them about 0.5cm apart. Go all the way around the tube and gently push on them to make them stick out a little. 4. Add some googly eyes and leave to dry. If you don’t have them, or would rather leave them off for younger children, colour or paint on some white circles with black dots instead. We use them for spooky decorations, but they are...
