Women who have their appendix or tonsils removed are more fertile

Women who have their appendix or tonsils removed are more likely to get pregnant, a new study led by the University of Dundee has found. The study looked at the medical records of over half a million women in the UK from 1987 to 2012. It discovered that pregnancy rates were higher among women who had had their appendix (54.4%) or tonsils (53.4%) removed than the rest of the population (43.7%). Ultimate Ninja course set to open in Colchester

A Ninja Warrior style obstacle course is due to open in Colchester this autumn. Ultimate Ninja UK is being built at the business park on Greenstead Road and will cover 15,000 square feet. The purpose built facility will challenge a whole range of would-be ninjas, from gymnasts and professional athletes to anyone simply looking for a fun new way to exercise. This image shows the touching moment a Glaswegian pensioner apologised to the family of a young burns victim who he threatened and racially abused. James Conner, from Carmyle, Glasgow, shouted abuse at Mohammad Asif, his wife Nasima and their two-year-old nephew Mohammad Sudais as they relaxed in their garden.
