Millions of mothers missing vital breastfeeding peer support

A lack of breastfeeding peer support is leaving many mums in the UK without vital help when they need it most, say researchers. According to a UK-wide survey, millions of mothers aren’t able to access crucial support from other women who have experienced the ups and downs of breastfeeding. The study, published in the journal Maternal and Child Nutrition, has shown that previsions for peer mentors are patchy at best. Parents warned after “high risk” car seat fails crash test

A child car seat sold by High Street retailers has been taken off the market after it failed a crash test, with potentially catastrophic consequences. Footage released by independent product testers which? shows the Recaro Optia come loose from its Recaro SmartClick base, sending an infant dummy flying through the air. How often do you change your bedsheets? According to scientists, if you’re changing them less than once a week you’re unwittingly spending your nights in a “botanical park” of bacteria and fungus. New York University microbiologist Philip Tierno told Business Insider that our beds can build-up a “significant” amount of bacteria in as little as seven days.
