Scotland to be first UK country to ban smacking

The Scottish government has confirmed that Scotland will becoming the first country in the UK to ban smacking children. The legislation will give children the same legal protection as adults from physical punishments. Ministers announced that they will ensure the bill lodged by Green MSP John Finnie becomes law.
