Rave-loving parents in Essex are swapping late-night parties for daytime family clubbing experiences.

Music Mob Events, held at Chelmsford’s CTZN Bar, brings together old skool bass with fun – and safe – child-friendly activities. The events are aimed at children aged 3-8, but older and younger siblings are welcome too.

Family-friendly clubbing

Like a mini festival, the entertainment at every Music Mob event is spread out over two floors and the outside terrace, in good weather. Each session is slightly different, but you can expect a mix of doodling, glitter tattoos, a chill out zone, some serious moves and a professional DJ playing club classics – in fact, everything you’d expect from a night out (except the illegal highs!).

Founded by local mum Amanda Kerridge, Music Mob events are designed to be both fun and easy to attend. “They’re an opportunity for grown-ups to enjoy themselves just as much as the kids,” says Amanda.

Music Mob Events

“I want each event to be as hassle free for everyone as possible, so I purposely keep the venue small enough to not make the parents or kids overwhelmed, but big enough to offer more than just music & dancing.

“It’s the same with the music, I choose DJ’s that will play music everyone will enjoy, so for the adults no nursery rhymes (arghh!) and tunes that make you go ‘tuuuuune!’, but at the same time be enjoyable for the kids with no hard house or rave.”

Up Coming Music Mob Events

There are three Music Mob events taking place before the end of 2017; a UV Glow party on 11 November, a Christmas Party on 9 December, and on 16 November a special GIRLS’ NIGHT OUT in aid of The Pink Ribbon Foundation.

UV Glow Party – 11 November, 2.30-4.30pm

UV Glow party lets families cut loose to some fantastic ‘grown up’ music played by DJ Katie Goodman, as well as featuring a craft activity, Lego table, neon face painting, balloons, glow goodies and more.

Remember to dress to impress under the UV lights. The bar will be open and cake will be available to buy, too.

Girls’ Night Out – 16 November, 7.30-10.30pm

Just like the regular events, this big night out is held across the two floors of the CTZN Bar – but this time the kiddies will be staying safely tucked up in bed.

DJ Katie Goodman will be spinning a mix of 80s pop & disco, and on the second floor a selection of local businesses will be setting out their wares for some early Christmas shopping.

Current attendees include Miss Dreambox (run by Chelmsford-based mums Betty & Sarah), Claire from Great Baddow-based Luxurious Hair & Beauty, and local Chocolatier, Made U Smile Chocolate Factory.

No hassle, and no thought needed; just a great night out with people you care about.

Tickets include a glass of prosecco, with most of the money raised going to The Pink Ribbon Foundation, who provide funding for a variety of breast cancer charities. Cocktails will be 2-4-1 in the first hour.

Early Bird tickets cost £8.00 per person (regular price £10.00) and can be booked at www.eventbrite.co.uk
