Three children went through a near-death experience last week after dash cam footage caught them running out in front of a 7.5 tonne lorry.

The incident, which was filmed by the driver, took place on the B1150 in North Walsham, Norfolk.

As the schoolchildren stepped onto the road, their mum was recorded running out in a bid to stop them – with the whole family leaping back just in time.

She is then seen holding her hands up in apology to driver Brian Knights.

Posting the footage online, Mr Knights said: ‘Kids ran out in front of my 7.5-tonne fully-loaded lorry.

“I did stop and check on the kids and mum.

“They were all shaken by the near miss but, after a few minutes they were all fine and I went on my way.”

The incident is a stark reminder of why sticking to the speed limit and holding children’s hands near busy roads is so vital.
