The museum will be dishing up a delightfully traditional afternoon tea – a combination of finger sandwiches, savoury pastries, scones with clotted cream and jam, and a selection of tempting cakes.
After you eat you can take in the museum’s impressive collection. Although the miniature steam train and the engines will be closed on the day, the Astaria model village will still be open to visitors.

Mother’s Day Tea at Hanningfield Reservoir Visitor Centre

This stylish Billericay café has a spacious interior and a dedicated play area for little ones.
The afternoon tea is served on a traditional three-tier stand and with pretty vintage china. The service includes a selection of sandwiches made with artisan breads, assorted little sweet treats, home-made scones with jams and clotted cream, and speciality teas.

Deceiving from the outside, Zinc is a lovely old school that’s been turned into an Arts and Community Centre.
This Mother’s Day they’ll be serving a selection of homemade finger sandwiches, warm scones with strawberry jam and Cornish clotted cream, a variety of delicious fresh cakes, an unlimited supply of freshly served tea or coffee, and a glass of Prosecco or non-alcoholic alternative.

This family-run hotel features a perfect mix of contemporary style and beautiful Victorian architecture.
The specially crafted menu for children up to the age of 10 includes: a white finger sandwich with grated cheddar, a granary finger sandwich with freshly carved ham and a homemade savoury treat. A plain scone with butter, clotted cream & Tiptree strawberry preserve, and a selection of chocolate treats. It is served with a choice of soft drink or tea.
