Essex County Council have agreed to open a new primary school in Takeley to help meet growing demands for local places.
Cllr Ray Gooding, cabinet member for education and lifelong learning, and the county councillor for the Stansted division, said: “My cabinet colleagues and I all agreed that a new school is needed in Takeley.
“We have monitored closely the situation in Takeley and our forecasts show that the demand for reception places has increased at a faster rate than originally anticipated. It is therefore appropriate to open the old school site to ensure the community can attend a local school.”
The 210-pupil academy school will on the former Takeley Primary site in Roseacres.
