Police are appealing for witnesses after a schoolgirl was injured in a hit-and-run. The incident took place near the junction with Colam Street, in Church Street, Little Baddow, at 10.30am on Sunday, 11 May.

The 14-year-old, from Hockley, was taking part in a school trip when the back of her head was clipped by the wing mirror of a white van.

After being knocked to the ground, she was taken to Broomfield Hospital and released later that day.
