Apple Days are an annual celebration of all things apple and orchard, held in the autumn. Here’s where you can join in harvest days and apple days in Essex during September and October 2018.
Easton Lodge Garden Apple Day, Great Dunmow

Visit the gardens on “Apple Day” where the Bishops Stortford Ukulele Band will be performing. The East of England Apple and Orchard Project will be with us to show the wide range of apples grown in the region and help visitors identify any apples they bring with them. Uttlesford Beekeepers will be showing a hive in action, and selling produce. Children’s activities and apple juicing. They will also have a display of vintage cars. Dogs on leads welcome. Guided tours will be available on the day at £1.50 per person. Bacon rolls are available until 2.15pm. Homemade cakes, hot and cold drinks are available until 4.30pm.

Apple Day at Audley End House and Gardens, Saffron Walden

Celebrate all things apple at Audley End. From bobbing and weaving to trapping and tasting, apples have never been so appetising! Taste Bramley treats in the tea room, see how the Victorians would have cooked a Nonsuch in the service wing, and enjoy pressing – and tasting! – Russets in the garden. Become a bobbing champion before meeting the Victorian gardener to learn how to deal with harvest pests in the orchard, while falconers show how they dealt with them in the field. Get crafty with apple-themed activities. With over 150 varieties of apple in the organic kitchen garden, the expert garden team will be on hand to share top tips, tours and pruning demos for green-fingered fans. All this and Blast from the Past playing traditional tunes throughout the weekend makes this festival the apple of everyone’s eye!

Apple Day at High Woods Country Park, Colchester

National organic month “Apple Day” hosted by Together We Grow Community Interest Company at the Big Garden. It’s everything apple from tasting, games, juicing, smoothies, local producers all set in the wonderful vibrant community garden and orchard.

Join the team and the Friends of Bedfords Park and Walled Garden for a celebration of all things Apple. Get fruit tree advice and get unknown apples identified by PTES. They will have some apple activities, craft stalls, food and drink and people on hand to answer any questions you may have about apples and growing fruit and vegetables at home.
Apple Day at Copped Hall, Epping

Access to both gardens and mansion (room stewards) as for open days. Apple Day is a national annual celebration of our apple orchards and local distinctiveness. Join in the fun, play some traditional games, help with the juicing and have your own apples identified by our expert. There will be a display and apples for sale. There will also be entertainment, refreshments and bar, lunches, produce for sale and the Trust shop.
