At bababoom we aim to treat you holistically and that includes keeping your mind healthy as well as your body. Chelmsford Wellbeing Centre – Specialist Pre and Post Natal Depression Therapy Service

At The Chelmsford Wellbeing Centre the BABCP Accredited Therapists can offer 1:1 Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and help teach you tools to manage your pre or post birth difficulties. One of the therapists is also a qualified breast feeding peer supporter, so if you are having problems with breast feeding, support could be given around this as part of your therapy.

Colic Support Programme

The Natural Soothe Settle and Sleep programme is a 90 minute one to one session in your own home. Together you can explore how completely natural tried and tested techniques can help to relieve symptoms of colic, promote sleep and relax baby.

Essex Child and Family Wellbeing Service
The Essex Child and Family Wellbeing Service, which is provided by Virgin Care in partnership with Barnardo’s, ensures that families have free and easy access to local health services in the community; whether in a local clinic, play area or in a family’s home. They deliver a broad range of support, including health visiting, family hubs mental health (maternal and infant), and family support. Lotus Petal PND – Peer Support For Mums
Based in Canvey Island, South Essex
A support group for parents suffering from antenatal and postnatal depression. Having suffered PND, anxiety & panic attacks, founder Sarah found she really wanted to chat and meet with others who were going through the same. Now she’s recovered she has set up this support group in partnership with the local children centres for parents to meet, gain advice, create friendship, and to access the help they deserve. Mums & Families (UK)
Claire and her husband Pete co-founded Mums and Families (UK) – a non-profit organisation providing perinatal emotional wellbeing peer support and information. It’s a unique and innovative programme for Mums and Families of children aged 0 – 5 that is completely FREE to all! Mums and Families (UK) aim to offer affordable and accessible peer support to mums and their families across Essex and the UK, via our up front and non-judgemental support programme, one to one, group and virtual support in a safe and welcoming environment.

Perinatal Mental Health Service
Based in Rochford and Chelmsford
The Perinatal Mental Health Service provides community-based treatment and support for mums, mums-to-be and their families. The service is available to women during the perinatal period (during pregnancy and up to baby’s first birthday) who are experiencing or are likely to experience mental health difficulties. Experiences include Traumatic birth experiences; Anxiety; Depression; Intense fear of childbirth (Tokophobia); Psychosis; Obsessive-compulsive disorder; Bipolar affective disorder; or Personality difficulties. You can contact your GP, midwife, health visitor, care coordinator or mental health worker to request a referral to our service.

Therapy for You
South Essex
Therapy For You is part of the Department of Health’s Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT) initiative. This service is provided by Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust (EPUT). The services are available to anyone over the age of 18 who lives in South Essex and is not currently receiving secondary mental health care or crisis services. Course include understanding postnatal depression, and understanding low mood after childbirth.
