A giant ice slide is coming to Colchester this December – and it looks amazing!
The Colchester DX Ice Slider will be set up in Castle Park from Saturday 2nd December until Wednesday 3rd January 2018.
Colchester Ice Slide
The ice slide will be 35m long with five separate lanes; four lanes for plastic sledding and one for slightly more adventurous riders who want to slide in a big tube.
Each session lasts for 25 minutes with a 5 minute change over. The ride is suitable for most ages, but children must be at least 60cm / 2’7ft high.
How much will is cost?
Peak Tickets are £10 online or £12.50 at the gate. Off Peak Tickets are £8 online or £10.50 at the gate. Booking is recommended, particularly at peak times.
Going as part of a larger group? Enter the coupon code FAMILY5 when you checkout for £5 off if you spend £40 or more.
Can anyone use the Ice Slider?
All children under the age of 5 years old must be accompanied by a full paying adult whilst going down the ride. If your child is going down the ride alone, they must be able to carry their own sled or tube up the slope and get onto the sled without needing help.
All children under the age of 12 years old need to be supervised by an adult. There will be a designated area where non-participating parents and guardians can watch their children free of charge.
The slide is not recommended for anyone with any serious illness, heart conditions or pregnant mums-to-be.
What else do I need to know?
Bags are not permitted on the slide. If you don’t have a spare adult to watch your belongings, lockers are available for a £2.00 fee. Leave large baggage or valuable items at home or in your car as they won’t fit into the lockers.
While your safety remains your own responsibility, a number of marshalls will be on hand to ensure everyone is sledging safely and will step in to help where necessary.
