Brightlingsea Open Air Swimming Pool
Promenade Way, Brightlingsea, Essex CO7 0HH
Open: Usually opens mid-July to mid-September from 10am to 6pm
Outdoor pool with sun loungers available for hire, a tuck shop, and a smaller pool for the toddlers. There are also showers, changing rooms and toilets available. Season tickets can be purchased from Brightlingsea Sports Centre, just a short walk away.

Woodup Pool in Tollesbury
Woodrolfe Rd, Tollesbury, Maldon CM9 8SE
Woodup Pool is a FREE saltwater amenity pool with an area of sand at one end. There is also a grassed area with picnic tables and two BBQ’s. A portable toilet is provided between June and September. Children should be supervised at all times as there are no lifeguards in attendance.
Aqua Park, Festwake, in Basildon

Open: Tuesday – Sunday and Bank Holiday Mondays, various times
Festival Wakeboard Park is a state of the art wakeboarding complex situated next to Festival Leisure Park, Basildon – Essex’s only inflatable ‘total wipeout style course’. It has its own beach, paddling area and brand new cafe, Costing only £15 per person for an hour session, including all safety briefings and a buoyancy aid. A wetsuit can be hired on the day for an additional £5 (Optional). For ages 6 and up.

Stay and Splash at the Paddocks

Open: 7 days a week from May, weather permitting, various times (check Facebook page for daily updates)
Play pool for children’s aged 0-8 years. Children over 8 with younger siblings are allowed but will be required to play calmly. SEN sessions every second Wednesday.
Prices from: Children under 1 are Free with paying sibling; Children £4.00 for 1 session; Adults £1.50 for 1 session; Children £7 double session; Adults £2.50 double session.
Harlow Paddling Pools
Harlow Council has five FREE to use outdoor paddling pools.
Bush Fair paddling pool – By the Tye Green Bowls Club off Tilwicks Road (CM18 6LU)
Harlow Town Park paddling pool – Behind the Leah Manning Centre, off Park Lane.
Norman Booth paddling pool – By the Norman Booth Recreation Centre, Old Harlow (CM17 0EF)
Staple Tye paddling pool – By the Great Parndon Community Association off Abercrombie Way (CM18 6YJ)
Sumners paddling pool – By the Sumners Recreation Centre off Broadley Road (CM19 5SJ)
Open: During the summer school holidays, 10.00am-6.00pm
Please be aware that there are no lifeguards on duty at the pools and no toilets on site. Children under eight must be accompanied by an adult.
The Three Shells Beach Lagoon
Western Esplanade, Southend-on-Sea, Essex, SS1 1EE
Open: From 10am daily and closing times vary throughout the year.
The FREE to use lagoon at Three Shells Beach is located next to the pier and the Adventure Island amusement park. It is 1.1 metres at its deepest, allowing visitors to swim and paddle even when the tide is out.
