According to the Essex County Standard, Joanna and Ben, from Great Clacton, have told the world about their son’s miracle story.

Monty, now six months, was born with a rare heart defect called tetralogy of fallot. In January, he underwent a 9 hour long operation to widen his pulmonary artery and moving his aorta, fixing the heart problem.

Monty’s recovery was not straightforward as within a day he suffered renal failure, he was given lots of drugs and was sedated until his condition improved.

Several difficult weeks have passed and Monty has now come home. Monty has to return for his next check up in 3 weeks but is doing well.

The parents are organising a fundraising day on Friday, February 28, to raise money for the Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity. Staff at ‘Benjamin Charles’ hair salon will transform their hair into wacky styles for the day and will be dressed in onesies.
