A school official has been left mortified after accidentally dropping a hilarious typo into a group text to parents.
Texting gaffes may be extremely embarrassing when we’re the ones making them – have you ever sent a string of kisses to your boss or father-in-law? – but it’s so much fun when you’re on the receiving end.
One group of parents had a good laugh after being sent a reminder about an upcoming church service.
The anonymous member of staff at St. Mary’s Primary School (the exact location is unknown) had only intended to invite its students’ parents to attend their upcoming celebrations. However, they inadvertently offered to do a lot more than anyone had ever expected.
The text sent out read: “Please join us for refreshments afterwards and if we can wash your dirty willies, please bring them along, thank you.”
Six minutes after sending to text message out to a wide group of unsuspecting parents, the texter obviously realised their mistake and sent out a frantic correction.
Horrified by the mix-up, the red-faced texter exclaimed: “I am so sorry, it’s WELLIES!!!! WELLINGTON BOOTS. Sincere apologies for any offence caused.”
The latest funny texting mistake was uploaded to the internet by Twitter by user @S_Jones76. It has now been retweeted more than 550 times.
Which means we’re not the only fully grown adults who laugh at a hilarious typo.
